The Bir Abdallah Exploration Permit Area is situated in the south of Tunisia in the province of Tataouine, and is a part of the Ghadames oil & gas basin. Its total area is 2116 km², and this Permit is located in the area of several deposits: El Borma, Jebel Grouz, Sanrhar, Laarich, Oued Zar, Adam, Chourouq, Makhrouga.
Main oil and gas pipelines pass through the Permit Area. 200 ÷ 250 kilometres away from the Bir Abdallah Permit Area there are the Gabes and the La Skhira terminals on the Mediterranean coast.
The Operator of the Bir Abdallah Exploration Permit Area project is YNG Exploration Limited, which operates under the Convention with the Republic of Tunisia, whose interests are represented by the ETAP ('Entreprise Tunisienne d'Activités Pétrolièresthe' which is theTunisian petroleum state-owned Company).
The Bir Abdallah project provides for:
- Geological & Geophysical studies;
- Available seismic data reprocessing, and interpretation;
- One (1) exploration well drilling.
